FunFactory privacy policy

FunFactory doesn't collect or transmit any personal data. No analytics, no telemetry, no accounts. Everything you make stays on your own device — the sheets you build and the files you export never leave it.

What FunFactory does on your device

Reads the pictures you add. When you drop an image into an item, choose one from the Open panel, or paste one in, FunFactory copies it into your sheet so it can be drawn and exported. That copy lives inside your .funsheet document on your device — it's never uploaded anywhere.
Renders everything locally. Shapes, text, effects, the packed sheet and the cut lines are all drawn on your device with Apple's own graphics frameworks. Nothing is rendered on a server, and no part of your artwork is sent anywhere to be processed.
Saves and exports where you choose. A .funsheet document holds your items, their styling and any pictures you added. Exports — a single item, every item, or the whole sheet as PNG or PDF — are written to the location you pick. All of it stays on your device.
Stores your preferences and presets — small settings such as your saved presets, which tab you last used, and window state — in your local UserDefaults and application container. They never leave your device.

Network connections FunFactory makes on its own

The App Store build makes no network connections of its own. The direct-download Mac build makes one, only in that build:

Update checks. The Sparkle framework periodically fetches https://bendansby.com/apps/funfactory/appcast.xml to see if a newer version is available. The request carries only a User-Agent string and the current FunFactory version — no identifiers, no telemetry, no tracking.

What we don't do

No analytics or telemetry of any kind.
No user accounts, login, or remote configuration.
No advertising, third-party tracking SDKs, or fingerprinting.
No cookies, no server-side logs about you.
No uploading of your sheets, pictures, or exports — they never leave your device.
