EasyWhen does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Everything the app does happens entirely on your device. This policy covers the Mac, iPhone and iPad apps alike. The one difference is the direct-download Mac version, which checks for updates and validates a license key over the network — both described below.
EasyWhen formats dates and times. It reads your system clock and time zone preferences to build date strings, then hands you the result — on the Mac by typing or copying it, and on iPhone and iPad by copying or sharing it. That is the full extent of its operation.
None. EasyWhen has no analytics, no crash reporting, and no telemetry. Your preferences (favorite time zones, format settings, and the hotkey on the Mac) are stored locally on the device and never leave it. There is no account, no sync, and nothing is shared between your devices.
The App Store and Setapp versions, on every device, make no network connections at all.
The direct-download Mac version (from bendansby.com/apps/easywhen) makes two kinds of request, and nothing else:
appcast.xml file from this domain to see whether a newer version exists. This is a plain HTTPS request that carries no identifier beyond the app’s name and version. No date, time, format, or anything you type into EasyWhen is ever part of either request.
EasyWhen does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks that collect data. The direct-download version’s license validation goes to Lemon Squeezy, as described above, and is covered by their privacy policy.
On iPhone and iPad, EasyWhen offers a Format Date action to the Shortcuts app. It receives the date and options a shortcut passes it, formats them on the device, and returns the resulting text. Nothing is recorded and nothing is sent anywhere.
